2015 - 2016
Contemporary and multimedia dance performance.
“[The book] Malleus Maleficarum, also known as the Hammer of Witches, recommends the most ruthless techniques for exorcising titty longhaired demons.” (from the text “The Devil Is Female”, in Mirrors: Stories of Almost Everyone by Eduardo Galeano)
The devil is female is a contemporary dance and multimedia artwork, set out to investigate the animal in the female body. Its name comes from a text by Eduardo Galeano.
The semi-nude bodies of three dancers occupy the stage, where their movements are accompanied by the digital art of a multi media artist.
The artwork propose a contemplation of the female universe from the point of view of the strange, monstrous, and animal; a female devil who embodies the images of a digital projection, being transformed and sheltered; the devil becoming a woman in encountering the strangeness of her own body.
This performance was made in collaboration of the Östersund Teatreverkstad - Sweden.
